Detachable hood with single-handed 3-way volume control -
Imagine the scene; you’re out on the slopes looking your best, performing turns that even you’re impressed by. Nothing could spoil this perfect moment until it starts to snow. At first you just shrug off the flakes, but eventually there’s nothing for it but to put your hood up. Disaster strikes, it falls down over your eyes, you’re momentarily blinded. In a split second your now hurtling uncontrollably at the very person you’ve been trying to impress. Super soft neck lining – When you’ve got your jacket done up as high as the zip will allow. There’s nothing worse than still getting a chill down the back of your neck. Why not enjoy one of the little luxuries in life: the feel of warm micro fleece on the back of your neck. All Surfanic jackets have a section of insulating micro fleece on the rear of the neck to keep out the chills and make the jacket feel that little bit more special. Goggle wipe - It’s 5° below on the slopes and the snow if blowing horizontal, then you arrive at your base-camp mountain acclimatisation capsule (The Bar at the ski lift). As you casually step into the capsule your goggles, having been pounded by Siberian winds, steam up. The person in front of you struggles to regain sight and ends up face down on the floor. With ease you reach for your chest pocket and, to the applause of the other people in the capsule, you delicately reveal a Goggle Wipe. With one swift movement all of the potential danger is removed and you sight is restored. Pit Zip Venting - We’ve all been there, as you sit on the chair lift overheating after a cracking run down the black slope. It doesn’t matter that it’s freezing cold and everywhere you look there’s snow, you still need to cool down and the only way in this situation is to strip to your grubby white string undies from 1985. Surfanic has the answer. All our adult Jackets have Pit Zip Venting to enable you to release this build up of heat before it becomes an issue. Under each arm you’ll find a concealed zip, open this and feel the cool wind blow. Inner snow cuff – Snowball fight at the chalet, black run at Whistler, or just a beginner’s lesson at the local indoor slope. There is nothing more uncomfortable than having wet sleeves inside your jacket. Any sort of long sleeve top under your jacket and the chances are it’s gonna get wet around the cuff. Surfanic jackets all have a snow cuff to prevent this. The thumb loops keep the cuff in place forming a tight seal around the wrist to keep the snow out. Headphone retainer and Media Pocket – If like Dr. Surfanic you can’t travel without one or two essentials, this is a major feature for you. iPod, Walkman, mobile phone, Blackberry, funky retro skull candy, Digital Camera, Satnav/GPS and a thing for taking stones out of a horses’ hooves are all essentials for any modern day enthusiast. With all these gadgets you need a pocket to store them in. Up steps the media pocket. Slip your iPod inside and feed your earphones through the retaining straps and off you go. The result, tunes all day long and an iPod that’ll be in one piece at the end of the day. Pocket big enough to take iPod, Personal CD player, Walkman, transistor radio or crystal radio…just not all at once. Zip out powder skirt with Snow seal snaps to pant - Ever since David and Victoria stepped out in matching sarongs, skirts for men have become even less acceptable than they already were. However this type of skirt suits even the most butch of men. All Surfanic jackets feature a removable powder skirt. Zipped to the inside of the jacket, this contraption forms a seal around the waist and prevents the ingress of unwanted powder up the back. Joining to the top of your pants this creates a snug and complete one-piece outfit. If you really don’t want to wear the skirt simply zip it off and store it in the pouch at the base of the jacket. Glove hook –
Is there anything more annoying than losing a glove? Losing both gloves is pretty annoying, but one is really frustrating. Anyway, at the base of all Surfanic jackets is a custom formed, one off, scientifically tested, extreme temperature rated, tiny, small plastic retaining hook. Map pocket - Pocket located on chest for map (need we say more?) Storm flap - We think it daft that some manufacturers sell waterproof jackets and then leave the zip exposed on the front or rear. They might as well attach a large sign to the jacket that says “Hi Water, there’s a way in here!!”. All Surfanic Jackets have a storm flap to prevent you getting wet with water that has pushed through the zip. Some are on the outside of the jacket and some are on the inside but they all do the same. Water see’s a Surfanic jacket and doesn’t even bother, 100% protection from the best it can offer. Dry butt patch – The base of all Surfanic jackets has a patch on the inside known as a “Dry Butt Patch”. It does exactly what it says on the tin. As an exposed area at the rear of the Jacket snow can easily flick off the back of your board as you carve downhill. This ingenious patch of waterproof fabric prevents the inside of the jacket from becoming soaked. This patch keeps your butt dry. Magnetic closures – Velcro is so last season, and poppers…. well they’re not what you’d call bang on trend. Once again Surfanic are pushing the boundaries of what’s possible. Magic Magnetic Closures are the future. Be amazed at how simple these are to use. Using a secret force field, one half of the closure seems strangely attracted to the other forming a tight bond. Although this bond seems unbreakable, using a little of Dr. Surfanic’s magic, they can be prized apart and used over and over again. Magic!! |
